Rufus schemes to leave a junk planet in Deponia, Daedalic's comedy point-and-click that started a German adventure series. Goal, the visitor from Elysium, is the person he bungles into helping, the junkyard tale is from 2012, and a Nintendo Switch port came later.
A talking robot and a city of scrap fill the screens. The hero is selfish on purpose, and many puzzles turn on his bad ideas.
Chaos on Deponia and Goodbye Deponia continue that pair. This first game is Goal's crash and the scrap-heap romance.
