Sketch Turner punches through living panels in Comix Zone, Sega's Genesis brawler from 1995 in which the artist Mortus draws the enemies. A Wii Virtual Console release later reissued that same comic fight, and a Game Boy Advance listing points at it too.
You shred a page border to reach the next frame while the artist Mortus draws fresh enemies onto the paper. Sketch's rat Roadkill can be thrown as a weapon or sent to sniff out a health pack.
The Wii reissue is that Genesis page-hopper, not a new brawler with new villains. Roadkill, Mortus, and the panel borders are the pieces players still remember.
