History

A stone knight wakes in the wrong century in Hype: The Time Quest, Ubisoft's 1999 action role-playing game. Hype, the knight, has been thrown through time, and each era changes the enemies and the tools he carries back to the fight.

Real-time sword swings share the screen with a party of companions met along the way. Medieval yards, later cities, and a future that does not belong to a fairy tale are the stops, so the inventory has to make sense in more than one age.

Ubisoft framed the whole trip around that one displaced knight. The time jumps are the campaign, not a bonus stage bolted onto a single castle.
