Meridian's vampires follow Kain again in Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, Crystal Dynamics' 2002 hack-and-slash sequel set years after the first Blood Omen. Dark Gifts return as powers, and the Hylden plot pulls Nosgoth's later history into a city you can climb.
Kain is already a tyrant in the wider timeline, and this chapter shows a stretch of that life as melee rather than the older overhead quest. Glyphs and feeding keep the combat from being only a sword.
