History

Jasper Byrne expanded a sparse apartment horror, and Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut is the larger edition of his two-dimensional survival story. The radio in the apartment is as important as the pistol, because a neighbor's voice changes the ending's tone.

Pills, canned food, and a radio are the scarce tools while something stalks the hall. Choosing whether to talk to a neighbor or barricade the door changes the tone as much as any weapon.

The game's larger cut is tied to 2012, and a successor-console port followed. The thin pixel figure and the heavy footsteps in the corridor remain the scare.
