History

Spoken jokes fill an open Gotham in LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes, the 2012 sequel in which Traveller's Tales gave the bricks real dialogue. Lex Luthor's plot pulls Superman and the wider league into Batman's city, and the streets between story missions can be flown.

Motion-console, Wii U, dual-screen, and glasses-free handheld releases all received that open Gotham. The voice work is the break from the mumbled first game, and the map is large enough that a cape is transportation.

This sequel is the one with the spoken lines and the league guests. The first brick Batman kept its jokes in silence; here the punchlines are performed.
