History

Power-ups stuck to a paddle are the update in Pong: The Next Level. Hasbro took the 1972 paddle game and, in 1999, added balls that curve, paddles that stretch, and boards that are no longer an empty court.

Atari's original needed two bats and a dot. This sequel keeps that duel and then breaks it with obstacles, so a point can be won by a trick the 1972 cabinet did not have.

Hasbro Interactive was collecting classic names in that era. The next-level subtitle is honest about the trick: Pong, plus the gadgets.
