Mom's basement resets in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, the 2014 rebuild Nicalis and Edmund McMillen made of the 2011 roguelike. Tears are the bullets, items rewrite the run, and Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch ports followed the computer release.
A floor plan that was kind once will be cruel on the next descent, and Mom remains the chase at the end of the early path. Rebirth is a new engine for that descent, not a patch on the older Flash version.
The 2011 original is the first telling. This rebuild is the one the Nintendo ports carried, tear rate and all.
