Goo balls become load-bearing joints in World of Goo, the 2008 physics puzzle 2D Boy built about living construction. Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel had players weld creatures into bridges, towers, and pipes while the World of Goo Corporation loomed in the background.
A structure that looks stable will sag once one ball too many is added, and the exit pipe only drinks the goo you can spare. The computer release and the WiiWare release were the hit; a hybrid-console port arrived much later with the same squishy engineering.
The joy is structural failure you can see coming. Later ports did not replace the WiiWare towers that taught people how far a triangle of goo could lean.
