Animal Crossing: New Horizons starts with a deserted island, a tent, and a debt to Tom Nook that you pay by shaping the land. A tent becomes a house only after the island starts to look like a place someone chose.
Katsuya Eguchi and Hisashi Nogami's team at Nintendo EPD built it around a real-world clock: shops close, birthdays land on the calendar, and snow falls in January even if you would rather it didn't. Mystery islands, reached with a ticket, are how new neighbors and new fruit enter the town. Nook Miles pay for recipes and for tickets to mystery islands where the fruit and the villagers are a gamble.
A free update added terraforming, so cliffs and rivers became something the player sculpts rather than something the island arrived with. Redd's art boat, the museum's fossils, and K.K. Slider's Saturday concert are the rituals that make a town feel occupied.
The GameCube, DS, Wii, and 3DS Animal Crossing games are other towns with their own pages. This one is Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
The series list above is the whole family set in this catalog.
