Amaterasu's celestial brush began on PlayStation 2, and Okami is Clover Studio's paint adventure later mapped to a pointer. A lily pad drawn on water only appears if the brush stroke matches the technique Issun just nagged about.
Ink strokes become slashes, gusts, and lily pads when the wolf goddess draws on the paused world. Issun nags from the edge of the screen while cursed Nippon waits to be restored one brush technique at a time.
The 2006 port lets the remote act as that brush, which suits the ink better than a stick ever did. Blooming trees and the rising sun meter still mark how much of a region has been cleaned.
