History

Ubisoft introduced Sam Fisher in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, a stealth game that started on Xbox during 2002 under the Third Echelon banner. GameCube received those missions, and the Game Boy Advance edition is a separate flat mission set.

A light meter decides whether a guard sees the spy or walks past a shadow. Third Echelon sends Fisher to grab a foe, force a code, and leave the lights broken behind him.

The handheld missions keep the Fisher name and redraw the sneaking as flat corridors. Anyone who remembers the sticky shadows and the goggles wants the console infiltration, not the pocket crawl.
