Dr. Bad-Boon's plot frames the mazes of Super Monkey Ball 2, the Amusement Vision sequel Sega published. AiAi still rolls inside a ball, the story courses run harder, and the party-game list outgrows the first Monkey Ball. Sega released the follow-up in 2002.
Tilting shifts the floor, and the monkey inside the sphere can only obey gravity. Corners become questions of slope and speed. Story stages abandon the gentle introductory ramps in a hurry.
Cutscenes cast Bad-Boon as the troublemaker who arranged this new gauntlet. Rolling physics then fill a larger group of mini-games than the earlier ball game carried. Bananas, narrow rails, and sudden gaps remain the course language.
Amusement Vision built the harder mazes and the wider party menu. Sega published the sequel that contains them. AiAi's ball and Bad-Boon's scheme arrive together.
