History

Neversoft dropped the two-minute run timer for open goals in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, the skate entry from 2002 that lets you talk to a pro mid-level. GameCube uses that structure, and Game Boy Advance has a different skate game under the name.

You stay in a level, talk to a pro, and clear goals in any order instead of racing a clock that dumps you out. Career cash still buys decks and stats, but the timer that defined the first three Pro Skater games is gone on the console.

The handheld release does not copy those open goals. It borrows the name for a separate session.
