Tehkan's arcade platformer Bomb Jack scores extra for lighting bombs in the right order before they blow. Home computers picked the idea up quickly, and the cabinet dates to 1984.
Jack's cape lets him hover, and the sequence bonus multiplies a careful route. A sphinx backdrop and a castle backdrop are among the screens those bombs sit on.
The arcade order bonus is the original rule. Home ports, and later a Game Boy edition, chase that hovering hero and those lit fuses.
