History

Matt Baker's squad needs orders in Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, the 2005 Normandy campaign with which Gearbox opened its World War II line. Hill 30 is the objective in the title, hedgerows break the fields into rooms, and giving an order matters as much as the shooting.

The 101st Airborne framing puts Baker with a squad that will stall if nobody is told to suppress. Ammunition and a flanking fireteam are the puzzle, not a lone commando's health pack.

Gearbox's first Hill 30 campaign is this Normandy walk. Later brothers-in-arms games continued the squad; this is the opening road.
