History

Human Entertainment's Clock Tower (1995), directed by Hifumi Kono, follows Jennifer through a point-and-click night with the Scissorman. Panic, a hiding spot, and a cursor replace a weapon, so the Super Famicom game plays as suspense.

Jennifer moves through the Barrows mansion room by room, and a door helps only if she reaches it before the blades. Several endings depend on which clues she gathers and whether her nerve holds.

Kono's horror uses a pointer and a stalker. The Scissorman's footsteps are a threat the cursor cannot answer with a subweapon.
