Codemasters' Colin McRae Rally (1998) is a stage-based rally built around the real Scottish driver. The PlayStation original is the known version, and a Game Boy edition is a separate, smaller port.
Gravel, tarmac, and snow ask for a braking point from a pace note rather than a circuit's repeated laps. Damage carries out of a stage, so an early clip of a tree can end the rally.
McRae's name on the box points at that real driver. The handheld edition compresses the stage idea onto a much smaller set of roads.
