History

France hosts the licensed finals in World Cup 98, the tournament game EA Sports built around that summer. National sides, a tournament bracket, and the summer's teams are the content, on Nintendo 64 and Game Boy beside the PlayStation and PC releases.

The 1998 finals supply the badge and the roster. A Game Boy edition is a much smaller kickoff, while the Nintendo 64 version tries to hold the tournament structure.

It is the official tie-in of that French summer, not a generic street soccer cart. France, the license, and the national teams are the reason the title wears the tournament's name.
