History

Hudson took the bomber off the maze grid in Bomberman Hero (1998) and made him jump through Nintendo 64 stages. Bombs still clear a path, but the camera follows a hero course of rails, enemies, and gaps instead of a single-screen arena.

It is a spinoff, not a numbered Super Bomberman port. Multitap battle is not the reason this cart exists; a health bar and a forward path are.

Louie's absence from the old party format is the point. Hero stages, the jumping bomber, and the abandoned maze are the spinoff's terms.
