History

John Romero's Ion Storm shooter Daikatana is the PC game from 2000 whose long delay became infamous, with Hiro Miyamoto carrying a time-shifting sword. The Game Boy Color release is a separate action game, not that first-person project.

Sidekicks on the PC are people you are expected to protect across eras. The troubled development followed the name more loudly than any single level.

The cartridge does not contain those first-person eras. It uses the sword's name for its own handheld action and puzzles.
