History

Spike packed an arena fighter with nearly every fighter the anime had drawn, and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 lets them fly across open battlefields. A beam struggle can still be won by mashing while both fighters hang in the air.

Beam struggles, vanishing steps, and rush chains replace the tighter flat duels of earlier Budokai discs. Transforming spends the same energy used for specials, so a Super Saiyan change is a tactical spend.

That roster shipped in 2007 on the motion console and on PlayStation 2 beside the same fusions. Capsule allies share the select screen with the tournament regulars.
