History

Terry Bogard entered SNK's King of Fighters tournament in Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, the 1991 Neo Geo fighter that started the line. Geese Howard waits at the end in South Town, and a two-plane stage lets Terry hop away from a fireball.

The Super Nintendo version ports that first Fatal Fury, not a later KOF entry. Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi are already on the roster, but the huge team format of The King of Fighters has not arrived.

Lane changes and Geese's stage are the cabinet's signature. The home port is trying to keep South Town, not the ensemble tag matches that borrowed the tournament's name afterward.
