History

The Bitmap Brothers built ornate rooms and a shop between levels in Gods, a 1991 trek that began on the Amiga. Weapons and potions are bought with loot, and a key puzzle in a Greek temple is as important as the next monster.

Smooth animation and a dense background were the studio's reputation, and this game spends both on statues, traps, and a climbing route. A bought weapon changes the next hall more than a found heart does.

A Super Nintendo port came later. The shop, the Amiga-born animation, and the temple traps are what that port was copying.
