Gunstar Super Heroes

Treasure followed its Genesis shooter with a Game Boy Advance successor, Gunstar Super Heroes, and Sega published it in 2005. Europe knows that same cartridge as Gunstar Future Heroes. Shots can be pointed instead of locked forward, and weapon types merge into hybrid blasts the way the earlier Treasure guns could be combined.

Projectiles, mines, and oversized bosses crowd the screen. Choosing a merged weapon is a decision made before the room gets loud, and the adjustable aim puts the shot where the enemies actually stand. Treasure's dense patterns want movement and fire at the same time, with little empty space left to rest.

The Genesis Gunstar Heroes game is the ancestor, not a level list being squeezed onto a small panel. This Advance chapter continues those heroes on stages of its own, with the same appetite for crowded fire. Sega's publishing and the European Future Heroes name are official labels for that successor.

Two weapon traits together produce a blast neither trait manages alone. Aim that can leave the forward line matters once foes stop lining up in front of the barrel. Treasure stacks both ideas under a storm of moving objects so the handheld fight still feels like a Gunstar room.
