History

A cartoon count who learns spells headlines Konami's Kid Dracula, the Western Game Boy release of a Castlevania parody. The Famicom original, Akumajo Special: Boku Dracula-kun, came first, and the handheld Western release dates to 1993.

Projectiles and bright boss jokes replace a straight Belmont duel. Familiar monsters show up as gags rather than as a gothic climb.

Boku Dracula-kun on the Famicom is the earlier version of the joke. Kid Dracula on Game Boy is the later Western cartridge.
