History

Shaped terrain replaces the flat strike map in Nuclear Strike, the 1997 campaign where the helicopter series steps into fuller flight. A campaign of rotorcraft missions follows the PlayStation and PC releases, and the Nintendo 64 version came after those.

The desert-map abstraction of the earliest Strike games gives way to shaped terrain and a more continuous flight. Fuel, armor, and winch goals still decide whether a sortie succeeds.

It remains a Strike game: a military helicopter, a mission select, and a limited vehicle. The fuller 3D world is the step Nuclear Strike takes, and the Nintendo 64 cart is the later passenger.
