History

Oddworld Inhabitants paired Abe with a Gabbit ally in Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee (2001), an Xbox adventure that a later Game Boy Advance version retells in 2D. Munch can swim where Abe still chants to possess factory guards.

The pair try to stop a scheme aimed at Gabbits and Mudokons. Possession, chanting, and Munch's water routes are the console tools, framed by Oddworld's industrial cruelty.

The flat handheld retelling keeps both heroes and drops the 3D camera. Players who remember the Xbox journey should not expect that same viewpoint on the cartridge.
