History

A private planet and a returning crew define Star Ocean: Blue Sphere. tri-Ace and Enix released it only in Japan, in 2001, as a follow-up set after Star Ocean: The Second Story.

Real-time battles and a science-fantasy ship full of the previous game's faces carry the combat. Because no official English edition appeared with that first release, the planet's proper names stayed in Japanese for years.

The Second Story had ended on a larger scale. Blue Sphere picks up the same company for a smaller, Japan-only episode rather than retelling the whole war.
