Springfield's family knows the levels are a product, and The Simpsons Game lets Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa talk back to checkpoints while they clear them. Marge's megaphone and Maggie's pacifier moments are powers the movie tie-in would never have given them.
EA built separate versions for the motion console and the handheld, so the living-room stages are not the pocket stages. Homer inflates into a wrecking ball, and Lisa's hand becomes a giant glove that flicks obstacles aside.
The 2007 jokes keep targeting extra lives, loading screens, and the idea of a licensed cartoon tie-in. Those asides are the writing, not a skin on a silent jump map.
