History

Scout a monster, ride one, and enter a tournament in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. Square Enix restarted the monsters line on DS with this 2007 game. It is not Dragon Warrior Monsters 2.

Scouting is how a wild creature joins after a fight, under rules that are stricter than a simple knockout. Riding a large monster changes travel on the field. The tournament gives the road a bracket and a rival.

Older Dragon Warrior Monsters cartridges are the ancestors, and the second of them is its own game. This restart uses a new hero and a new circuit of islands. Square Enix treated it as a fresh start.

Rank and breeding matter once the stable grows. The mount you ride can also be sent into a fight. Tournament rounds are how the story measures a scout.
