History

You draw the map on the lower screen in Etrian Odyssey while the upper screen shows a first-person corridor of the Yggdrasil labyrinth. Atlus released this first Etrian in 2007. FOEs patrol as powerful enemies marked on the chart you are sketching.

Walls, doors, and icons go down in your own hand. A blank chart is a real choice, and a careful one separates a safe stair from a dead end. The guild you name is the party taking those jobs.

FOEs are often too strong to kill on the floor where you first see their mark. Walking around them is a valid plan. Yggdrasil's labyrinth is the whole theme, floor after floor.

Later sequels add other lands and other rules. This cartridge is the original guild under the original tree. Atlus expected the pencil to move every time you take a step.
