History

Hack-and-slash corridors, not a hero grid, are the battlefield in Warriors of Might and Magic. 3DO's 2000 spinoff is an action role-playing game, deliberately separate from the turn-based Heroes strategy games that share the license.

A single champion clears dungeons, gains levels, and manages a bar of health and mana while enemies rush in real time. Castles and creature names echo Might and Magic, but there is no weekly hero moving across an overland map.

Heroes of Might and Magic kept the turn order and the castle sieges. This warrior's outing is the other shelf: one body, one weapon, and rooms full of the franchise's monsters.
