Oolong faces a queue of armed fighters in Yie Ar Kung-Fu (1985), Konami's early arcade bout. Each opponent brings a weapon, so a chain, a star, or a club changes the distance Oolong has to keep.
The one-on-one line is the structure, not a walk through a side-view fortress. Winning advances to the next specialist, and losing restarts the duel.
The NES edition is a home port of those bouts. Oolong and the weapon-users are Konami's arcade roster, moved onto the cartridge without becoming a different sport.
