History

Ark leaves an underworld village in Terranigma and must rebuild the surface from a lifeless shell. Quintet and Enix released this action role-playing game in Europe and Japan in 1995, and it never reached North America.

A spear and the crystal at Crysta, the village under the earth, start a journey that resurrects continents, plants, and towns. Side-view fights alternate with an overworld that fills in as life returns.

Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia came earlier in Quintet's loose Super Nintendo line. Terranigma is the last of those action role-playing games, and its rebuilding plot stayed out of North American shops.
