History

EA staged the third Jackson film as a hack-and-slash in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, with two-player co-op on GameCube during 2003 amid the Pelennor crowds. The Game Boy Advance version covers the same war from the side.

Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf carve through crowds at the Pelennor and along the Paths of the Dead. The Black Gate is among the film scenes the console version turns into a brawl you can share.

The side-view cartridge follows that war with its own levels. It is a companion retelling, not the co-op disc squeezed into a smaller box.
