History

Luxoflux set armed muscle cars loose on an alternate 1970s highway in Vigilante 8, a demolition derby that reached PlayStation and Nintendo 64 during 1998 with named drivers. A Game Boy Color adaptation followed, carrying that armed-car idea onto a small screen.

You pick a vehicle, bolt on a weapon, and try to be the last wreck still rolling. Named drivers turn a desert road into a duel, with missiles and rams replacing any ordinary race position.

The handheld edition keeps the armed-car fantasy without the console draw distance. Collectors treat that cartridge as its own small adaptation of the Coyote-and-vigilante war, not as the 3D arenas squeezed flat.
