History

Cardboard gangsters pop up in Hogan's Alley (1984), and Nintendo's Zapper is supposed to spare the innocents. Shoot a lady or a professor cutout and the drill scolds you; shoot the gunman and it continues.

It shared the Famicom light-gun lineup with Duck Hunt and Wild Gunman. The alley is a range of panels, not a free-roaming street.

Another mode pans targets across the screen, still with the same rule about who must not be hit. The Zapper, the gangster panels, and those innocent bystanders are the entire lesson.
