History

SNK's The King of Fighters '96 is the Neo Geo team tournament that changes bosses and lineups after the previous annual. A Game Boy port exists, the arcade board is the real release, and this record dates it to 1996.

Kyo, Iori, and the Orochi thread continue in three-fighter teams, with a new boss after the last one's defeat. A changed team slot is the kind of yearly tuning SNK did on the cabinet.

The Game Boy conversion compresses those teams onto a small screen. The Neo Geo tournament is the one players count as that year's King of Fighters.
