Muddy Mole shoves dirt and sets bombs because his family is trapped underground in Mole Mania (1996). Pax Softnica constructed the puzzles, Shigeru Miyamoto produced them, and Nintendo published the Game Boy cartridge. A room is a small diagram: drop a dirt block into a pit, crack a wall with a bomb, or dig down to the layer beneath.
A block that falls into a hole becomes floor and stays there. Detonate in the wrong cell and you erase the very step he needed. Farmer Jinbe is the one who took the family, so every clever shove aims at reaching them.
Surface trails and buried chambers stack on top of each other, and a dig swaps Muddy Mole between those layers. Miyamoto's production keeps the verbs tiny: push, place, explode, drop. Pax Softnica chains those verbs into rooms that punish a hurried shove with a worse layout than the one you started with.
He is not sprinting a cartoon field for points. The family is the destination, and the dirt is both the barrier and the material that builds a path. Nintendo's cartridge measures progress by how much closer that reunion has become.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.

No wider family is grouped for this title beyond the series list.
