History
Howard Scott Warshaw's insect-versus-shield duel Yars' Revenge became one of the Atari 2600's biggest original sellers after its 1982 release, built around a Yar and a Qotile. The Neutral Zone is the stripe where the enemy swirl cannot kill you.
You nibble a shield, then fire at what sits behind it. A Game Boy Color release later revisited that same shield-eating fight.
The famous version remains the 2600 cartridge Warshaw designed. Later revisits inherit the insect, the shield, and that safe stripe.
