Jewel chests sit behind monsters that must be sealed or baited in Adventures of Lolo (1989), HAL Laboratory's Eggerland puzzle. Lolo and Lala push blocks, turn some creatures into eggs, and cross water only where a block makes a bridge.
Each room is a single screen with one jewel chest as the exit's key. A Medusa's gaze or a Don Medusa's shot punishes a rushed push.
HAL's NES chapter belongs to a longer Eggerland line. Lolo, Lala, the blocks, and the chest are the puzzle, repeated until the castle's rooms run out.
