History

Ryo Sakazaki's spirit gauge powers special moves in SNK's Art of Fighting (1992) already. Spend the gauge on a fireball and the next special is weaker until it refills, which makes a desperate attack a real cost.

Robert Garcia shares the Neo Geo roster of that first entry. A zooming camera closes in when the fighters step apart, a flourish the cabinet used to show the sprite work.

The Super Nintendo port is a home version of that first entry. The spirit gauge and Ryo's kyokugen style are the systems the port had to teach on a pad.
