Mickey Mouse changes costume in Disney's Magical Quest, Capcom's first platform game in that series, released in 1992. A firefighter outfit, a mountain-climber outfit, and, in later forms, a magician's clothes each grant a different move. It is not the third quest.
The firefighter's hose climbs and strikes. The climber's gear answers vertical shafts. The magician form arrives later and changes the attack again.
Emperor Pete sets the chase in motion by kidnapping Pluto. Mickey puts the costumes on to get him back. Capcom draws him so the outfit reads clearly against the stage.
Later sequels add more characters and more worlds. This opening game stays with Mickey and the costume line. Capcom's Disney platform work of that period starts with these outfits.
