Turbo Tunnel speeders smash careless riders in Battletoads, Rare's NES brawler that changes vehicles and gimmicks every few stages. Rash, Zitz, and Pimple climb, punch, and then get dropped onto a speeder that does not forgive a late dodge.
The Dark Queen is the kidnapper behind the shifting levels. A surfboard stretch and a climbing rope sit beside the tunnel, so the next stage may abandon fists entirely.
Rare's original arrived in 1991 and is the Battletoads people mean, long before later reimaginings. The Turbo Tunnel is the brutal speeder sequence the reputation rests on.
