Jason steers the frog-shaped tank SOPHIA through side-view ruins in Blaster Master (1988) before dropping into an overhead cavern. Sunsoft's American booklet makes him a boy chasing a pet, while the Japanese board Metafight tells a war story on that same cartridge.
SOPHIA's cannon clears the horizontal tunnels, then Jason climbs out on foot when a ladder opens a top-down chamber. Gun upgrades found in those chambers change the tank's shot before the next corridor begins.
Metafight's pilot and science-fiction briefing never show up in the American manual. Both editions still alternate the same two viewpoints, tank run then cavern, on one board.
