Swappable operatives replace the usual pair in Contra Force, Konami's NES spinoff with no arcade original. The player can change members during a run-and-gun stage, and each member's weapon changes the next room.
Konami released the task-force story in 1992, with no coin-op whose stages this cart is trying to copy. That missing cabinet is what separates it from the earlier Contra boards.
Switching bodies mid-stage is the mechanical hook. The task force, rather than the famous duo, is who shows up on the select screen.
