Gas-gun theatrics and a cape define Disney's Darkwing Duck, Capcom's NES continuation of its Disney platformers. The cartoon duck who poses as a superhero gets stages built around that gas gun and a short glide.
Capcom placed the cart in 1992, after the studio's earlier Disney jumps on the same machine. St. Canard's criminals are the bosses, and the pose is the character's joke even when the pit is serious.
A Game Boy version was released as well. The NES stages are the main Capcom treatment, still in the line of the studio's Disney platformers rather than a new genre for the duck.
