History

Gravity Man's hold and Gyro Man's blades headline Mega Man 5 (1992), alongside a charge shot and the usual special weapons. Proto Man's apparent betrayal is the story hook that makes the stages feel like a setup.

Capcom keeps the side-view robot masters and adds the suspicion about the rival. Gravity Hold changes a room's jumps, which is a stranger gift than a simple spread shot.

The charge shot remains available beside those borrowed weapons. Proto Man's seeming turn is the NES plot, and Gravity Man and Gyro Man are the bosses that announce this chapter.
