Choose Vent or Aile, then Megamerge, in Mega Man ZX. Inti Creates developed the game and Capcom published it in 2006. Model X and Model Z are the Biometals that define the opening transformation.
Megamerge armors the chosen hero and changes the weapon in hand. Vent and Aile are the male and female leads, sharing a path with differences in the scenes around them. The setting comes after the Zero series, among humans and reploids living in the aftermath.
The Zero quartet is about Zero himself. This story starts later and puts Model Z in someone else's hands. You are not playing as Zero under a renamed title.
Inti Creates carried side-view runs forward into this new pair of heroes. Capcom published the cartridge. Further Biometals appear beyond the first two, so the opening merge is not the whole set.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
